Biography

Mukesh Jadhav son of Shripatrao Jadhav, is an ardent disciple of Pandit Shantaram Chigri, of Benares gharana. As a child prodigy he began his career as performer at a tender age of five.

Although he belongs to Benares Gharana, he combines in his performance the quintessence, of other gharanas.

His ability to go into innumerable permutations and combinations of each Tal, the exceptional clarity of stroke and the instinctive insight to know when to digress into solos and how much are some of his strengths.

Mukeshji has accompanied almost all the masteroes in Hidustani and Karnatak classical styles. The list of his performances include AIR Ravivarya Sangeet Sabha broadcasted all over India, with first performance at the age of five.

His spontaneous innovation of the Tal, going very deep into the Tal properties and giving every moment a colorful finish to the Tal has made him very popular with the youth.

He is the director of Tal-Vihar music academy which is always working in search of new talents in Indian Classical Music.

Invention of Sur-Laya-Tal Awishkar (Naad-Brahma) by Mukeshji was appreciated by well known artists and audiences of Pune Festival and Doordarshan when presentation was done by the students of Tal-Vihar academy.

Mukeshji has won praises and blessings of  great Indian masteroes like Pandit Jasrajji,  Pandit Bhimsen Joshi, Ustad Allah Rakkha, Ustad Zakir Husain.

He has performed at all the famous traditional music festivals all over India.

Mukeshji also enjoys a cultural exchange with the West. He has played Jazz with famous drum player Shivmani.

Mukeshji has spread the message of love and harmony through his Tabla all over the world by performing in USA, Britain, Germany, Australia, France, Japan, Portugal, Malaysia, Singapur many times.
